REMEMBER WHEN???

This past Saturday, my brother Mike went back to our hometown, Chatham, New Jersey and walked around the old neighborhood. Three years ago we did a tour together. We took an entire Sunday to walk around our old neighborhood, look around our old elementary school, walk through the town and visit our childhood home. YES! My brother had met the homeowner a few years before our visit, sent him an email and asked if we could take a tour of our childhood home. He agreed! Talk about a weird experience. So many memories flood your mind when you revisit your childhood roots. It was a simpler time when you are young. During my childhood, I wasn't worried about our troops in Vietnam or the Watergate trial. I worried about doing well in school, making friends and playing. Lately I have been thinking about many things in life that have changed. So let's take a stroll down Memory Lane as we remember when!!

Remember when as a kid, you would sit in the front seat of your car with no seatbelt. When your Mom or Dad made a quick stop, they would stick their arm out to make sure you were safe.

Remember when you rode your bicycle all over town with no helmet and your parents were not the least bit concerned about that. They were happy you were having fun.

Remember when your home telephone would ring and you would pick it up having no clue who was on the other end. This was before "Caller ID". Or how about when you would make a call and get a "Busy signal. Remember also the rotary dial phones. Phone calls took forever!

Remember when you played with your friends in the street? We played hockey, touch football, stickball, kickball and other games. Today, you barely see kids out on the streets playing. Parents today are worried about all the whacko's out there and rightfully so.

Remember when your family went to a Drive-in Movie theater and you had sleeping bags in the back of your station wagon? It was fun all being together and so cool you could watch a movie in your car!

Remember when you had a black and white TV and in order to get good reception you had to move the rabbit ear antennas on the top of the television?

Remember when you woke up early on a Saturday morning and watched cartoons? There were so many amazing cartoons and shows just for kids. This was way before The Nickelodeon channel or the Disney channel!

I'm sure there are other things I could mention but I did want to conclude by saying many things in life have changed, but Jesus has never changed. He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever!

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK!
