Here we are 3 days into 2024. I was just thinking the other day how much I remember 1974. I was in 4th grade. In 1984 I was a college student. In 1994 I was in my third year as a Children's Pastor. In 2004 I was the father of three kids with #4 coming 2 years later. In 2014 let's just say it was a rough year but a year of growing, stretching and discovering who I was and who my true friends were. Now it's 2024. I am turning 60 next month but I honestly only feel 60 when my back and shoulder hurt. Mentally I feel younger, and I know many times I act younger, especially when I have a puppet character on my hand!
In the above picture (sorry it came out so blurry) is a bracelet I created. I am planning on wearing this every single day and handing them out to anyone who wants one as well as to kids I minister to. The purpose is very simple. To start conversations with people and to declare that God Rules in my life. We have many people who declare their political views on t-shirts as well as even their sexual orientation. I want to declare who is number one in my life. God has and always will rule in my life. I do my best to live for Him!
John 3:16 is the most memorized verse in the bible. It says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but will have everlasting life." God loves us so much He gave! Yes, His son Jesus who would die on a cross for our sins and rise again. He offers us His amazing free gift. Everlasting life! I am not ashamed to declare my love for him and I realize a bracelet is only a visible sign. My life and how I live it has to be the bigger "sign" for people to see.
